Round I - "Sisterhood Night" - Saturday, October 10th 2009
"Sisterhood" night is where everyone submitting a Formal Membership Registration is invited to visit all four women's fraternities (Open House Event) on saturday night. This is the time to get a brief look at each chapter, and get a first impression of the sorority system.
What to expect: Round I Attire
During this event you will visit each of the four chapters. The parties will last only 45 minutes each, and you will spend most of your time being introduced to sisters. The sororities will sing and dance as your RC group approaches their facility. Each chapter will have four (4) display tables prepared to promote the various aspects of their
organizations and will feature a short slide/media show to highlight their own unique sisterhood qualities.
Do not be afraid to ask the sisters any questions you have about the sorority or Greek life in general. Make sure you tell the sisters about yourself as well; they need to get to know you as much as you need to know them. Maintain a positive outlook throughout all the houses, do not set your mind on one chapter before Recruitment or during Round I. Keeping an open mind is the best way to ensure that you go to the house where you are happiest!
What to wear:
The attire is dressy casual. Nice pants and skirts; dressy jeans are suitable as well. An outfit one would wear to a nice dinner. As you may spend quite awhile outside of the houses or walking between houses, please dress warm. As Recruitment progresses, potential new members and sororities participate in a mutual selection process whereby the PNM ranks her preferences of chapters and chapters issue invitations to their events.
Your Recruitment Counselor (RC) will inform you if you did not receive an invitation to any party. Otherwise, show up at the appointed time and place to receive your schedule. |

Round II - "Philanthropy Night" - Sunday, October 11th, 2009
The second night is "Philanthropy" night where potential new members have the opportunity to learn about the national philanthropy of each organization and participate in a philanthropy project/activity at each house they attend. This is the 1st Invitational event.
What to expect: Round II Attire
During this event, you may visit up to three of the chapters. The parties will last 50 minutes each, and you will be learning about .the national philanthropy of each organization and participating in a philanthropic project or activity with the sisters of the chapter.
The atmosphere will be relaxed; ask questions you might have about the philanthropy within the sorority. Ask about activities the sorority is involved in such as academics, mixers, sisterhood events, and their new member program. Since they are longer, these parties allow you and the sisters to get to know each other better.
What to wear:
Dressy casual attire is appropriate for this round as well. Casual dresses, nice pants and skirts, and dressy jeans are perfect. You will be working on a craft project and may end up sitting on the floor, so be sure to wear clothes that are comfortable and easy to move in. Also, you may spend quite awhile outside of the houses or walking between houses so dress warm.

Round III - "Preference Night" - Monday, October 12th, 2009
The final night of Recruitment is "Preference" night where potential new members can watch ceremonies at which members convey the meaning of their sisterhood. This is the 2nd Invitational event.
What to expect: Round III Attire
During this event, you may visit up to three of the chapters. This round is called Preference (Pref) because you will be making the final decision about which sorority you would prefer. The parties will each last a full hour. Each sorority has a different ritual or ceremony they will present, and the sisters will be telling you what their sorority means to them. This round can get very emotional.
This is your last opportunity to look at the sororities you may join; keep an open mind, reflect back over the last few days, and ask any last minute questions you may have. It may be difficult to choose between chapters, but do not despair. Remember there is not necessarily one "right" choice. Consider all of your options and go where YOU will be most happy.
What to wear:
A nice dress that you would wear to a wedding or a similar special event would be appropriate. Semi-formal or formal (prom type) dresses are too dressy.
